"Houjicha (hor-jee-cha) is a roasted, flavoursome green tea that has lingering savoury, toasty notes, and a beautiful golden-brown liquor. Houjicha starts off as a steamed green tea however the leaves go through an additional step of roasting during processing, which transforms the flavour profile from vegetal to roasted and nutty. If you’re a black tea drinker, this is a good entry point for your green tea journey. Enjoy Houjicha with meals or at any time of the day. It also makes an excellent base for an iced green tea creations and can be cold brewed easily.
Houjicha won a Silver Medal at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show in 2018 and a Gold Medal at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show in 2017. It was one of only three Gold Medals awarded in the Drinks Category. It also recently won a Bronze Medal at the 2018 Hobart Royal Fine Food Show.

HOW TO BREW
Serve: 1 teaspoon per cup of water (250ml)
Water temperature: 70° – 80°
Steeping time: 3 minutes (no longer!)
Remove leaves from pot before drinking. Never use boiling water when brewing."
